Color experts predict the color of the year and the palettes of future seasons. Coloro and WGSN have named five key shades for Fall/Winter 2023-2024. They are soothing, comforting, contemplative and energizing.
Expressive color is a way to attract attention and make yourself known in a world oversaturated with information. Five trendy tones, from natural to digital, are designed to strengthen our connection with the outside world, as well as open the way to escape beyond it.
Golden Harvest offers a warmer combination of the three main trend colors: beige, ecru and yellow. It is soothing and nostalgically inviting, reminiscent of the earthen buildings and Saharan landscapes of Morocco, as well as the retro filters that have become so popular on social media. In interiors, the color of the year will work well in upholstery for upholstered furniture, it will also add warmth to dining and common areas such as living rooms.
Bloodstone / Heliotrope The dark red hue of heliotrope, often referred to as “blood jasper”, has a “primal mood”. To some extent, it inherits the success of red and brown colors – the latter has become especially popular in the fashion world today. Bloodstone is a fairly versatile shade that can be used in different areas.
Dark Springs This is a more interesting alternative to black shades, whose return has been a resounding success in recent fashion shows. The green undertone gives Dark Springs a depth reminiscent of the paintings of Mark Rothko: the more you look at it, the more it seems to change. This is a universal tone that will transform depending on the light source and the material used. In the dark, the deepest black is visible, in the sun shades of green appear. In interiors, this decadent shade will be especially appropriate for walls and chic velvet textures.
AI Aqua continues to be a key color that will transition from the current Spring/Summer 2021 palette to Fall/Winter and emphasize the mid-season tones. Although it has natural characteristics, reminiscent of the hue of a summer sky, its saturation level gives it a digital blue effect.
Electric Magenta is an invigorating color of the year with a strong character that looks like a computer generated version of a berry tone. While this choice may seem unusual for fall/winter, Electric Magenta is just a few shades away from the more classic reds and burgundies, making it unexpectedly appropriate for the season.
