Color is one of the determining factors when creating a spectacular and at the same time comfortable interior. At the same time, if used incorrectly, almost all the advantages of the living space can be eliminated. What subtleties should be taken into account and what, in principle, is the phenomenon of color in the modern design industry, said designer Diana Balashova.
Diana Balashova always pays great attention to color in her projects: she, earlier than many others, began experimenting with complex, rich shades and non-trivial combinations. It is no coincidence that today it is Diana who represents the Sikkens brand , which has specialized in paints for more than 230 years. Tatyana and Diana discussed a number of topical issues related to both the use of color in general and the use of paints in particular.
Diana is convinced that this direction allows the designer to truly express himself and confirm his talent. Bright colors will not give you a chance to “hide” behind a restrained design.
The experts also discussed Milan Design Week and told us what colors will be trending in the near future. Diana explained why sometimes it is worth choosing deep dark shades and abandoning light monochrome, why she loves colored ceilings and how best to prepare a dark-colored wall for repainting.
How to find the perfect combination of shades?
The designer shared life hacks that help simplify the selection of interesting combinations. She considers one of them to be studying the booklets of global manufacturing brands, such as AkzoNobel.
In most of her projects, Diana uses Sikkens paints – in particular, the Heritage palette of 112 shades, developed together with professional colorists. The deep-matte coating, velvety to the touch, allows you to carry out any color experiments and not worry about the quality of the final result.
