The Project Room on Rue Belchasse in Paris is a new type of space conceived by architect and designer India Madavi. She herself defines it as “something between a gallery and a showcase.” Madavi has already presented three scenographies. The third Project Room session opened in December and will be open throughout the winter.
Project Room is, in India Madavi’s words, “for free expression and collaboration.” Bringing together talent and craft, encouraging dialogue with designers across the spectrum through installations, exhibitions, shows, performances, lectures and meetings. It is expected that the exhibition will be updated four times a year. Entry is free for visitors.
Unique products, limited editions, exclusive collaborations – the program will develop along with the space. At its core is a reverence for craftsmanship. “Craft is at its best when it serves the imagination. When the power of the hand is combined with the power of the mind, magic is created. Beauty is born only as a result of this meeting,” India Madavi is convince
Rue Bellachasse, where the Project Room is located, is located near La Casa Street, where Madavi already has his own studio, showroom and boutique. “Each location has its own character, its own peculiarity. Today my strength is my independence. I created my studio in 2000, and since then I have been designing, producing, selling and promoting my furniture and petits objets – small objects and accessories.”
India Madavi is a certified architect, successful in design and works brilliantly with decor: she was awarded the title of an absolute color star. “Polychromist, color polyglot, I live in color, surrounded by color. He is my design language, my alphabet, necessary to express happiness, the joy of life that I strive to convey. Another obsession of mine is flowers, they represent the fragility and beauty of the world. Glass is the best way to reveal these properties.”
